Last May, I attended the 10th annual “Benefit by the Sea” for Crossroads House in Portsmouth, NH. Crossroads House provides a safe, transitional shelter and program that helps its residents move with confidence to stable and worthy housing. It was an impressive event of beautifully dressed people and pretty touches all around. As I looked around, some were dressed in formal black tie and others in slacks and the ladies were mostly in cocktail attire with some being more or less formal.
It was my first time attending, so when looking for my dress I went for a long classic style, but the fit was close and the color was nude. I feel that if I attend an event, then why not go for it….have fun with it, be different and be on trend with a twist.
Went with simple hair with a bit of curl
Necklace was gold with purple large stones
Raw silk fitted dress with a slight mermaid feel
Paired the dress with a vintage 3/4 length velvet coat with fur collar
Handbag was a hard coppery clutch that played off the gold colors and my skin
Shoes were black, gray and purple. Large ring had beads of pink and purple.
Nails were in a gray putty.
The outfit was a big hit. I felt a little ‘dressed up’, but that was what I was going for. Next month we’ll be attending this wonderful event once again. I’m thinking of going with a short dress or long and lace!
Fashion for a cause..Love it and you look gorgeous!!
