Before & After

Village Elementary School Entry

Mrs. Noble wanted to give the entry a welcoming and unified feeling for the students, staff and visitors.

Goals:  Replace 5 chairs, paint walls and island, add greens, shelving, accessories and rearrange and add wall hangings.

Zone 1                   Before                                                                     After

Zone 2

The shelving provided a functional area to store small toys in the bins and books for visiting children.  Small accessory touches such as a photo of the staff placed on the shelf and a jar of local seashells provide a homy feel to a school environment.

Zone 3

Added stools between chairs for additional seating for the little ones who come in with their parents.

Zone 4

Added an additional chair and large tree to bring the outside in.  Very nice and inexpensive way to warm up a large area.

Project took three weeks and we spent $1000 on material and goods.  Being a high traffic area, I made sure that all furniture was very durable and treated the fabric for wear.  Furniture was bought at Target and Home Goods.  Paint by Benjamin Moore.

“I approached Denise, a parent of two students at Village Elementary School, at the end of last school year to assist me.  I had visited her website and knew she had the talent to assist me with my vision.  I desired Village Elementary’s office area to be a warmer more welcoming environment and I had a fixed budget to work with.  I explained to Denise what I was looking for and she did all the designing and shopping for me.  I am so appreciative that Denise gifted her time to us at Village.  As I enter the building each day I have the look and feel I was searching for.  Denise is a joy to work with!”
