Gray & Taupe Dream

Neutral designs are happening with taupe and gray everywhere, even in my own home!  What I love about using these two colors is that they are so calming, classic, old world, a bit of traditional meets modern and oh so neutral!  Here are some of my favorite gray and taupe designs.

Black and white prints are even better with a bright accent color
Fabric Print Wallpaper + Coral Bedroom Curtain + Glass & Gold Gilded Night Stand + Clear Pink Glass Lamp
Traditional wallpaper is so whimsical with the soft colored accents.  Romance
oversized printed wallpaper on one wall could be cool in downstairs guest bedroom #home #design #interiors
A large scaled print works by keeping everything else simple and clean lined
Great colors, patterns and textures. Four poster bare of curtains, dressed with bohemian eclectic cushions and duvet quilt in vibrant green ethnic print love long bed cushion and bold flower print. Tara says, I love bright colors and striking patterns.
With white wall you can do anything on the bed and this bohemian spread pops well
With black floor and distressed furniture, this chair takes the prize
With a large room with high ceilings you can go with a bolder print and plaid brings a rusticly classic feel

My next project

Project:  Living room & Dining room area

My vision:  To mix gray browns into the two rooms with prints and paint.

Details:  Reupholster one or two chairs and sofa.  Paint walls and some accessories and add a Lucite coffee table.

Stage 1:  collecting fabrics, colors, taking measurements & ordering fabrics

Collecting fabrics:  I love how these prints compliment one another

P1010661

This pillow is the perfect gray.  I picked up some spray paints to compliment this gray

P1010663

An antique chair that will be recovered with this bird print

P1010638

My current sofa.  As you can see there is some wear & stains.  I still love the lines and tufting of this sofa

P1010637

The ikat print that pushed me over the edge and decided to go for it

Thinking of replacing as slip covering would be nearly as much

Working through the samples to see how they work together

My current taupy wall color

P1010644

I adore this animal print.  Wanted to use for slip cover but may use instead of bird fabric

P1010643

Much deeper color than my current sofa fabric.  I’m ready to go darker and softer to the touch.  Change is good.

As you know, projects take time.  My next stage is to schedule the sofa & chairs and paint!  To be continued. . . . .
