When it comes to giving a gift why not give something handmade. When someone is taking their energy to create a handcrafted good, I call it Art. There is nothing I find more beautiful than when I know someone handmade a great gift.

A quote I saw that I just can’t get out of my head, “I Long for Salt Air in my Hair”. I’m thinking about long lazy days spent at the beach with my boys. The beach is where so many of our summer memories are made with family and friends. I’m ready!
If you have one of these cheap folding screens and want to upcycle it, why not make it into a custom headboard! It’s easy and you can do just about anything your heart desires.
Step 1: Spray Paint~ I used a more expensive paint to avoid having to spay so many times.
Tip: Take your time when you spray paint, it’s best to do in light layers.
Step 2: Add metal hardware on back of screen to avoid the screen to fold. Then Hang on the wall behind your bed. Either drill a hole through the wood or add hardware on the back.
Tip: Resist adding your decor to the screen, as this is large and awkward to hang and you don’t want your hard work to get ruined.
Step 3: Collect and create the decor you want to add to your screen. Use Velcro to affix items to your board.
Tip: Don’t be afraid to add a few things to start then add over time, as this is a large space!
I made my own Fishing sign by hot gluing store bought pebbles onto letters! Use shells or seaglass as well! The Bait bag is actually an old clothes hanging pin bag! I hand painted the words and picked up vintage wooden fishing hooks to add to the bag.
My son collected stickers, shells, and driftwood and I picked up the signs, handmade fishing pole and the clothes pin bag from a yard sale, and the Pottery Barn pin board shark
As I think about this past year I have a lot of happy and accomplished feelings. I honestly feel like this has been one of my best years, as everything seemed to fall into place, with family, friendships and business decisions. I feel so much gratitude with how balanced this year turned out with love, my family, relationships, friendships, the blogging community and my ever so grateful clients.

It’s the most Beautiful time of the year in New England. I just love living in Maine during Fall. There is nothing like the spirit and celebration of Fall that New Englander’s cherish. It is shown through all their efforts with decorations using pumpkins, hay, mums, leaves and more. If you haven’t seen it for yourself, now it’s time to enjoy and fall in love with New England.
