If you’re getting ready for a major celebration then may I suggest you have the ‘it’ party decor, a Frilloon! It’s everything, glamorous, sweet, perfect, stunning and oh so fancy. The way it floats is so romantic with the long eye catching tassel making it fun to hold or stand on its own.
Frilloons can be used just about anywhere and add so much fun to any event as they are customizable~ any color combo you can think of or all in one color makes a great statement! Imagine an all red Frilloon for a valentine’s celebration.
I used one this New Years Eve and I’d have to say it was so eye catching because you don’t normally see such a big balloon, but add the amazing tassels and it become beautiful and so impressive.
Frilloons are by a Minneapolis company called, ‘White Peacock Styled Events’. The balloons can be shipped and will add wonder and style to your next event.
Mark and I met in 1994 and married in 97. I was so young, all of 25 years old when we married.
One of our first formal events together.

Christmas 2011. After being a couple for 17 years!
A N D. . . . here we are 18 years later!
We’ve come a long way. . . 2 son’s who are now 6 and 9, my stepson is 27 and this summer we welcomed a daughter-in-law into the family. Our family has grown and continues to change, but one thing remains the same…us!
Gift giving is one of my most favorite things Ever! I just love doing it, always have and I love getting gifts, well….when they are thoughtful. If you’re going to Give, then make it good. Just giving a gift is not good enough, make the gift count. It doesn’t have to be expensive if the gift is special. Here is one of the gifts I gave this year.
Start with this. . . .
To make this . . . .
I start with thinking about the person I’m giving this gift to…what is their style? Funky, country, earthy, rock n roll, etc. Keeping in mind your friends’ style and home decor while you shop for your frame. Also, the photo must be fabulous. . .a photo that makes you smile because of what is happening, the place and the people. Determine if the photo fits the frame well. Don’t put a sleek looking black and white photo in a pine frame. Do what makes sense.
Supplies you’ll need: glitter glue, super glue, letter or words, accents and tons of rhinestones.
The process: make sure you have some time on your hands, and don’t forget to start this project early to account for drying time. I layout the larger items along the frame first. The lettering may need spray painting, but if you buy pre-painted letters then you’re all set. Super glue works the best to glue the rhinestones on and I alternate colors and sizes. Once those are all down and dried, go back and fill in the left over spaces with glitter glue. You may want to add smaller rhinestones in these smaller areas as well. On a scale of DIY projects this one is pretty simple, yet so chic and awesome!
Made the birthday girl H*A*P*P*Y ! ! ! ! !
Giving a thoughtful gift actually in turn gives back to the gift giver. It’s very rewarding for someone to enjoy a DIY gift that you created yourself. It can be as simple as a poem that you wrote and added in an embellished frame! Or a hand drawn picture or you’re own art. I love quotes, so why not frame an amazing quote in a beautiful complimentary embellished frame! Go For It! Think, Plan and Do! Happy DIY-ing!
I’m not sure why but I sure do love a birthday party!!! To me it’s special to get together with friends and family and enjoy food, drink and conversation. Of course I don’t need a reason to get dressed up, but it sure is sweeter with people who you hold close to your heart! Birthday’s are a time to enjoy, reflect, connect, indulge, celebrate and cheers! I adore my friends and family. Here are some of the looks that happened over my birthday celebration! Thank you to all that are a part of my life. I’m better for knowing you…you know who you are. I’m ever grateful to be able to do what I love and love what I do. Cheers to all!
My boys were ring barrier’s in their brother’s beautiful wedding on September 7. The bride and groom wanted a vintage wedding vibe, so not only was the decor vintage but the wedding party wore suspenders and caps.
I had my boys hats, ties and suspenders handmade from Etsy.
Their outfits fit right in & they LOVED being part of their brothers’ wedding!

Suspenders & Ties by Tiny Tots Clothing

Khaki’s by Joe’s Jeans

I know I’m a little bias but how cute are these boys? I think their outfits worked really well. The only thing I may have done differently is to make their ties a tad darker…I love to know what do you think?
She couldn’t be more beautiful. I remember her as being such a hard worker, especially when she raised me by herself. She always worked and was a loyal employee. I remember there being times when she was so tired, but I just had to see my friend, who happened to live across town and she usually ended up driving me. Whenever I had a new interest, she’d let me embrace it and pay for my lessons. Being me, I would agonize over what to buy at the department store…she gave me a budget and I would take my time picking out and trying on everything. I had the coolest room and when I was a teenager, I just had to have my own telephone line. My mom would cook, clean, and do my laundry even after I was old enough to do it myself. When I was older and had a step dad we’d go skiing every weekend in the winter and camping in the summer. Now that I have children, organizing skiing every weekend is no small task and have yet to camp with them.
My mom knows how to celebrate life as well. She has always been here for the births of my two boys, my husband’s 50th birthday, my 40th, every Christmas since my boys were born and even their birthday’s. She never fails to be a call away to hear about us and the boy’s achievements.
I admire my mom for so many reasons and my boys adore their grandma. Thank you mom and Happy Mother’s Day! We love you.
A quote I saw that I just can’t get out of my head, “I Long for Salt Air in my Hair”. I’m thinking about long lazy days spent at the beach with my boys. The beach is where so many of our summer memories are made with family and friends. I’m ready!
Easter & our boys
This year James wanted to place the eggs in the boiling water (only broke 7)
We went with ego egg dye from William Sonoma & Kool Aid!
The eggs turned out just as well with eco dyes!
For every holiday we have quite a book collection (from my teacher years!)
One of my favorite books…”The Truth about Easter Rabbits”
Love what they say about Easter Rabbits
Ace loves Easter. He would never miss out on all the fun!
My attempt to make breakfast
The hunt is on
Every year John finds less eggs but gets more dollar bills
Jame found 27 of the 50 eggs
Stickers, change, dollars, stamps & bubbles come in our eggs
Easter ears a must
Egg fight fun
Our Easter isn’t fancy but it’s fun and while our boys are young we want them to believe in the magic of Easter.
Time to Celebrate James with a Fishing theme Birthday Party!
Make the invitation stand out~ should reflect the party theme
I found these invitations on Etsy
I picked up these cupcake labels on Etsy & made my own fish banner
Make 2 cakes & cut out a shape to add to the top of the other
Goldfish, Swedish fish, Gummi worms
Make the party activity memorable
The boys knew we were fishing for crabs
Take home shirts
Happy 8th Birthday James!
I know what cold winter weather feels like, being born and raised in Alaska I know how to dress for the Cold! We Alaskans know how to stay warm, mostly by wearing fur, down and wool. Growing up I spent a lot of time outdoors even if it was cold. As and adult I still crave being outdoors, but now staying warm must be functional and fashionable! Here are some Alaskan inspired parkas.
Growing up in Alaska spending time play in the snow while parents ice fish.
A bit older, maybe 5 but this time I have on my homemade Alaskan fur parka to keep warm.
Wearing my aunts full length parka, wishing I had my very own. Beautiful!
My son John, wearing a down snowsuit and me in my northface coat and fur headband while hiking.
A good friend wearing her cousin’s Athabascan Alaskan parka.
If you are in need of a good looking parka, fur, wool, faux fur or down parka, here are a few of my favorites!
